Do you force yourself to eat foods you don't like

just because they are good for you?

I don't. I refuse to eat anything I don't like the taste or texture of, no matter how nutritious it may be. There are plenty of nutritious foods I do like.

Do you insist that your kids eat foods they don't like just because they're good for them? I didn't. If she didn't like a food, she didn't have to eat it. But she did have to take three bites before declaring that she didn't like it. Some foods, it takes your taste buds more than one sampling to get an accurate reading of the flavor, especially if you've got some other flavor already on your palate. If after three bites, she didn't like it, she was not required to eat it, no matter how nutritious it was. There were plenty of nutritious foods she did like.

Nope.  I'm not a healthy nut at all - even though I like carrots, celery, cauliflower, oranges, apples - I still don't eat them.  I have a major sweet tooth and I love salty food.  I'm a horrible, horrible heathy eater.

I don't force my kids to eat healthy foods if they don't like it.  But they do need to at least try it.

My parents didn't have me try food that I said I didn't like - so I am now trying new foods that I love and probably would have liked 20 years ago.

Nope. I stick to nutritious foods we LIKE. DS is the pickiest of us all, so he has the 3 bite rule Phoenyx mentioned above- if after 3 bits he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to eat it.

Pretty much the same here.  Since I do all the cooking, I won't make something I don't like.  When the girls were younger, I made them try it, but I didn't force them to eat it all.  Usually if they didn't like it after many tries, I gave up on it and just didn't serve it to them again.

Nope.  And I don't make the kids, either.

Nope! Never.

Nope, which is one of the reasons I never made my kids eat anything they didn't like either. If I don't do it why should I make them.

I can say yes with a qualifier. I have started trying foods I did not like or thought I did not like; Mashed cauliflower, guacamole, carrots, and pineapple. Just as an example. Some I have like and some I still don't like. As such I try to ask Dh and Ds to try new things too. My tastes have changed and I would hate to miss out on yummy things to eat. I do not force anyone to eat it if they don't like it.
