Have you started to save money on gas by walking?

The weather has been nice lately around here. We have started to walk to pick the kiddos up from school.

 

Have you started to save money on gas by walking?

I can't. Our school is 7 miles away and the stores I shop at are not within walking distance. Even if I did shop at the Food Lion up the road, I wouldn't walk to and from it- it's only a mile but it is a winding road with too many blind spots.

The only thing within walking distance is our elementary school, and to save gas (AND TIME!), I drop the kids off on my way to work (literally is ON the way!) and a friend picks up on her way home!

Yes although the NICE weather is not uniform. March snow in Western Washington is rare and we have it dumping on us. 

 

I try to walk to the bus stop as much as possible. Its a fitness thing for me too. 

 

Nothing else is in walking distance besides the schools

The kids' school is way close, and I've been walking to pick them up lately.

In the mornings I still drive the kids (we usually are not ready in time to make the 10 minute walk) but I have been walking to pick them up after school.
