I haven't watched Idol at all this season so I have no idea what is even going on, but the latest breaking news is Jermaine Jones will be kicked off "American Idol" Wednesday night, after producers learned he concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants

What are your thoughts on this? Should he be kicked off, and should it be done on camera?

Isn't this the same guy who made up the story about his dad abandoning him?  If so, I think he should be let go.  Too many lies.

Why would it be done on air?  Isn't it a live show?  If I were the guy, I'd just step down quietly.

I personally don't know why he'd agree to have it done on camera. I sure as heck wouldn't. I heard this yesterday and at that time I heard one of them was for physical violence. I think that might have been the final straw. My DH and I were discussing this last night when I told him about it and neither of us understand why they don't "vet" them. This is several times now they've had to throw off a contestant because of bad acts. My DH was pointing out that a background police check can be done quickly even for him, much less AI, so why don't they do that when they narrow the field down.

As soon as I saw the headlines that someone was getting kicked off for their background, I came up with a theory. They know darn well when people have a past. I am sure it is easy for them to find out before it gets too far. They let them go through because it is publicity for them. Headlines are what they want. How many times has this happened?

I would think he wouldn't want it to be on air either. So I am wondering if they paid him for that appearance?

I like this show less and less each year. But I continue to watch because it is a family thing. It's one of the only shows we all watch together. And we will probably watch until it crashes and burns.

I have discovered the voice this year, and I like it better.

Don't have to suffer through weeks of horrible singing.

I wondered along the same lines...I think AI producers brought him back BECAUSE of that reason...Their ratings are much lower this year than in the past and what better way to get ratings than some controversy?! Sort of off topic, but not really b/c you mentioned it first wink.gif ...Isn't The Voice good?!

I thought the same thing.  However, the warrants out for his arrest were under aliases, which would make it harder to find out I suppose.

Yes The Voice is good. Love Adam. Thinking about starting a fundraiser to buy Christina a tanktop. LOL. Not sure why she needs to wear a shirt that low cut for this show.

Isn't that the truth? The "girls" seem to be the fifth and sixth stars of the show.
