Has anyone started planning out their garden?

What are you planning on planting this year?

Is there anything that just  isn't worth the money to plant in your opinion?

Honestly, all I want to plant is corn.  But I know DH will want some potatoes, peas, green beans, cukes, tomatoes, peppers.

We love planting a garden but then our summer turns busy and we don't care for it like we should.  So by the time we realize we should have picked the peas, they are gross.  Tomatoes are hit and miss with us.  Last year we got maybe 3 or 4.  2 years ago I couldn't keep up.

I just want to fill my freezer with corn!

I have been toying with the idea of planting a few things this year either in pots, or building a raised bed garden (I had one at my last two houses). But after reading YOUR comment, I realized that I TOO have trouble just keeping my flowers alive. Maybe not, huh? ROTF.gif

Kinda. My main focus is tomatoes this yr. It looks like I will be doing most of everything by myself this summer, so I am not about to overwhelm myself with a BIG garden this yr. I will do some simple stuff too..such as onions, lettuce, zucchini, and my berries/grapes.

We plant cherry tomatoes around the weeping cherry tree.

We plant Zucchini, Yellow Squash and Bush beans in the "flower beds ".

We plant watermelon in the upper flower bed.

We plant lettuce in flower pots.

I already have tomatoes, strawberries, and cucumbers growing

My strawberries keep spreading, so hopefully they will do well this year.  I also do herbs like basil, parsley, cilantro, and tomatoes.

We will do tomatoes, bell peppers, salsa peppers, green beans, zucchini, broccoli and onions.

Corn never works out for us and last year we planted cilantro and it was all ready long before our other stuff and I ended up buying a bunch for 89 cents to make salsa.

I started my seeds yesterday. We did radishes, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, squash, beans.  In pots I will do dill, parsley & chives.
