My oldest dd had one that was quite small, basically just family. Younger dd got a GED so no party. We will see what the boys want to do when the time comes.

I would ask him. I didn't want one, but my mother insisted. I bet he would prefer a present to a party!! I would spend the money on what counts.

There is NO WAY my kids would have preferred a present over a party. They got tons of money at their party they could use so didn't really need a present per se. They REALLY loved their parties and wanted to have their friends and relatives come to celebrate with them.

Yes, but she is in a new area and most of the friends and family are not there. I would just ask him what he wants.

As a kid I didn't have one.  I really didn't want one so no problem.

For my son, he will have one.  We are currently trying to decide if it will be family only, extended family or include friends as well.

Helpful corner to celebrate graduation. Graduation is one of the remarkable moments of being a student and indeed, must be celebrated. A graduation celebration is a must, and it is most likely hoping to get an excellent present from you. Make sure you have the cash to pay for everything by getting a cash advance.

Party! Party! Everyone.

Best regards. Cameron

My father insisted on throwing one for me at his house w/ his side of the family & his business associates. I was so angry and am still not happy about it 30 years later. I told him I did not want it. He chose the date, which was the date my best friends were having their parties - they were all clustered on the complete opposite side of town, and were hopping from party to party, and I should have been with them. None of my older siblings had a party, but I got stuck with it, visiting with old relatives I barely knew because of the divorce. 2 of my friends finally showed up at his house hours after the party ended, because they got so lost trying to find the place, and that meant a lot to me. I agree - ask you son what HE wants, Jen.

I never had one.  I guess when I graduated I really didn't think finishing HS was a big deal.  I was expected to graduate college, so I just figured I would have a celebration then.  But when I graduated college, I felt I was "too mature/old" for a party.  LOL.  I did have a lovely dinner with my parents, grandparents and fiancee though.
