What is the cheapest way you have found to dye Easter eggs?

I always buy a color kit on clearance after Easter to use the next year. Eggs are 99 cents at KwikTrip right now.

Is it expensive already? I also buy the kits on clearance after Easter and just keep them. We limit the number of eggs, too.

We do the same thing.  Can usually snag the kits for $0.10 - $0.25.  You can always add rubberbands or write with crayons before dying for extra decoration to the eggs.

That's what we do.

Last year I tried food coloring and I'd rather just stock up after Easter for $.10-$.25...It wasn't worth the mess.

You are not kidding!!!  When the kids want to 'help' with food coloring, no one ends up happy

Really? I had no problem using food coloring last year! It was FREE since I already had food coloring at home.  Maggie was just 4, she did it pretty much all on her own and there wasn't any mess.

Dye Easter Eggs Frugally with Food Coloring

A couple years ago when I did use an egg dyeing kit, I didn't use all the tablets, because it dyes a lot more eggs than we needed. In fact, the tablets and the copper scooper are still in my kitchen drawer 2 years later...
