Alicia Silverstone ‘pre-chews’ 11-month-old baby’s food

Thoughts on this?

I read an article the other day where moms are starting to eat their placenta to get extra vitamins. How gross is that? I'll just continue taking my multiple vitamin, thanks. Lol.

I didn't read the article because ... well frankly, I don't want to lose breakfast.

IMHO, this is the height of "Momma Competition" as in "I love my child so much, I pre-chew her food."

Nope, sorry, I don't need to keep up with the Jones on this front. I don't need to get my baby the best Swedish baby carriage made. I don't need to buy her leather, European walking shoes. I don't need to buy her couture baby clothes. I don't need to pre-register her for college when she has even enrolled in preschool yet. And I certainly don't need to pre-chew her food.

I personally would have NEVER done that, but I know many poorer countries do have this as a practice. I just think it's gross. I wanted to throw up just watching the film footage of it last night. Of course I don't like her anyway.

What is she feeding the kid, steak??? At 11 months I cannot imagine what you are feeding them that has to be pre-chewed. Someone should buy her a baby bullet.

Although, if we were lost in the woods and were living primitive, then I would pre-chew just to keep the baby from choking. Which is probably why they do it in poorer countries.

My thoughts on this....Ewwwwwww.

Gross.  Sorry, I just can't wrap my mind around why this is a good idea.  Someone enlighten me!  (I didn't read the article)

In that I live in America, I think NOT.

I didn't read the article either (I just got through with breakfast), but Alicia Silverstone has always been a bit of an oddball, so I'm not surprised to hear that she's doing this.

Our country is quite advanced with various kitchen items available (which I'm sure Alicia can afford to buy) to grind up food before you feed it to your child, so I don't understand why this would be necessary.  I can see doing this in more primitive countries, but not here.  And there are other ways to bond with your baby besides sharing mommy's spit.
