We started with the squashes for DD and DS and then moved onto other vegetables.
I was told by our ped , if I was able to skip the bottle food and try make it myself as I knew what was going in there.
She also told me, stick to one flavour for a week. IE - apple for lunch , pumpkin for dinner, so that the kids got used to the taste. After a while I could start mixing and matching the meals - ie apple, banana and pear for lunch.
I just cooked batch of a certain veg, put them in ice cubes, and once frozen I would put them in a sealed bag - so it was easy for me to make a meal.
DS was more fussy - and I started adding the fruit or veg with his cereal until he got used to the taste.
