Do you feel you need to have an activity or craft planed every day during the summer?

I don't I find that my kids get tired of it if I do that. I do however try to have one outing a week(can even be a different park kind of thing) and one craft but not everyday. They like to be creative themselves and make up games with the neighbor kids ect.

what about you do you plan out everyday or do you do only a couple things a week?

We usually hit the swimming hole everyday ~ or most days, and then try to get out for something bigger at least once a week.  Even if it's just errands in town, we'll usually hit the park or do a picnic or something.

We don't really "plan" things unless it's friends coming over.  We don't have any neighbors (so no neighbor kids) to just call on when they are bored.

No. My boys spend most of their summer playing outside with their friends or we are at the beach. I don't do a lot of planning other than what trips we will take as a family.

I have to plan something or they'll drive me nuts.  It is so humid here that playing outside all day during the summer is not something we can do.  We need to go to the pool or river.

I have to admit that when my kids were younger we usually DID do something every day. It was not only to entertain them, but also me biggrin.gif It didn't have to be a big thing. It could be as simple as going to the library, or playing with a neighborhood family, or meeting someone for a picnic in the park. I considered it my job somewhat (I was a SAHM) to use my time to enrich my children's lives with a variety of activities.

we really do not plan things unless meeting up with others . my girls are so busy with gymnastics that we just go with the flow and are lazy during the summer

and if its not to muggy out they are outside on the tramp or pool or swingset. (if its too muggy odd's asthma acts up so things need tobe cooling off)

I write down free things we can do on the calendar (library activities, concerts in the park, etc).

I'm putting together a summer binder with ideas for crafts and camps that I can put together. I will go to it for ideas, but I typically don't plan out activities. It's more of a go-to for ideas if the neighborhood kids aren't around or the pool is closed.

Oh my gosh NO! Summer is all about great amounts of UNplanned time. DD has to make her own fun.

I agree.

I don't do something ALL day, EVERY day but we usually have something planned.

No. They are so busy with sports and such, that I don't really plan anything.
