So I started wearing a pedometer yesterday. I'm trying to lose weight and I thought of I could reach 10000 steps a day that's a start. Had around 7500 steps yesterday. Showed dh and he was floored. He asked what I'm doing all day that I did 7500 steps! I said I told you I don't sit on my butt all day! Lol

I think all us sahms should wear one for a day!  I love when dh comes home and says, what did you do all day.  Really?!

That would be a good motivator to keep me from sitting on my butt all day!  Might have to do that.  Reminds me of a forward I got in my email last week, found it on this website. What Did You Do All Day?

That's great!

Sometimes I just don't know where the day went when I was a SAHM and there was no way to really explain how much time each thing I did took.  Dh never asked it like that.  He would ask, "What did you do today?" which I think makes a huge difference.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no super mom, just min. maintenance so the housework doesn't get overwhelming, declutter some, and a load of laundry and dishes. I do take time for myself when dd2 naps or is quietly Occupied sometimes I even get a (gasp) nap too.smile.gif

My dh often comments that I am on the computer too much and that I spend my entire day on here. In all reality I don't. Thanks to being on the computer all day (:p) I was able to pull up old fb posts where I was listing what all I accomplished on many different days, usually before noon. He was floored. He didnt' realize what all got done. No, it is not always all cleaning. Sometimes it is running errands, working puzzles or legos with the kids, taking them to the park, helping my folks etc. Stuff you don't really see evidence of.

No kiddling!  Dh usually takes between 2K, 3K steps a day, I most always take more than 10K!

I so relate.  Dh will paint a chair and everyone ooos and ahhhs over it.  I break my freaking back trying to keep up the house...goes unnoticed.

Exactly. DH goes to bed (he sleeps days since he works midnights) and the house is straightened up, when he wakes up is mostly is. He has no clue that I have picked up the kitchen, bathroom, and sala multiple times during the day to keep it that way. What really makes me laugh is that when I did work I would ask him to do the dishes or something and he would get all huffy because how was he supposed to do that when he had to watch the kids! LOL Like I do everyday?????
