What is summer like at your house? - Page 2

I've decided that we are going to spend a lot of time outside playing. My hubby works long hours during the Summer so I'm going to enlist my kids help in building the treehouse, painting their bedrooms and refinishing some Goodwill furniture I've purchased but not gotten around to. We'll probably go to the library every other week. I also decided to start teaching the kids to cook (which goes along with no eating out). We are going to tackle my huge U.S. cookbook and make at least one dessert a week to take over to my grandma's house and visit with her. She's 92 and doesn't get out except to go to church.

We have passes to the zoo and the natural history museum so we'll probably go there a few times. I want to get parking passes for the state parks and take some local field trips.

Because of my youngest's surgery we can't do a family vacation so we are going to do the citypass for Atlanta (which is like 30 min away). I'm making hubby take a long weekend and we're going to hit all of the attractions.

I am going to try and get out more. I work ft but during the summer things slow down and I only work 3-4 days a week. My girls are at an age now where it is easier to take them places (almost 5, 3 and almost 2) so I am going to take them to more garage sales, park, etc. They all have summer birthdays so we will have their birthday trip of choice to do too.
