Best places to buy laundry products?

My family has very sensitive skin so we use the same kinds of products over and over. We use All Free & Clear detergent and Snuggle Free & Clear dryer sheets. We use borax as a laundry booster as well as vinegar.

My question is, are there specific places that are going to be less expensive for laundry necessities? Any stores I should stay away from? I am a SAHM and we have a tight budget but I have to use these products.

My DD has sensitive skin also and we use similar products.  But are you sure you have to use name brands?  We use Walmart version of the "free & clear" laundry products.  Maybe you could try those?  If they work then you could stick with them.

Since I don't know what stores are near you, I can only go by where I live.  We have Kroger, Meijer and Target.  Each of these will have sales on those detergents and I usually stock up at that time and use coupons too.  P&G will usually have coupons in the newspaper the beginning of each month and ALL is usually included.

Rats, I forgot to mention I'm in central TX. I live not 5 minutes from a Target and never shop there. I was under the impression they were more expensive than everyone else so that is a good bit of info to have! thanks!

I actually don't think we've tried the store brand version of free & clear. We tried the regular store brand (HEB brand) but it wasn't free & clear. How we managed to NOT try this is beyond me. I just asked DH if we had ever tried it and he was just as surprised as I am that we haven't!

Target will often offer a gift card when you purchase 2 of certain products. I have seen $5 gift cards for when you buy two Tide products.  I am not sure about All, but they do have sales you could look out for.

I make my own laundry detergent. My family has sensitive skin and I became very tired of spending what I was on detergent that is nothing but chemicals! It works wonders on my clothes, (even my husband's work clothes) and is awesome for our sensitive skin. Here is the receipe.

1- 5 Gallon Bucket

1 bar of Fels Naptha soap (grated)  97 cents

2 Cups Borax  1 box is $3.97

2 Cups Arm & Hammer Washing Soda, (not baking soda!)  1 box is $3.97

All you do is melt the soap in a pan with boiling water, mix all items in bucket with warm water and let sit till it gels. I use 1/4 cup for each load and 5 gallons lasts me 2 months or more! Great deal for the price and it works just as good as the Tide I was using before I switched my house to a toxin free home.
