A Mommysavers Challenge: 31 Days of RAKs
I really believe it's the little things in life that turn out to be big things, and that a little kindness goes a long way. I also know that the best way to cheer myself up is to help other people. So starting May 1st, I'm going to challenge myself to do one RAK (Random Act of Kindness) a day above and beyond what I would normally do. Each day, I'll come back to the RAK forum and report on what I did and what the reaction was. I'm also hoping to get my family involved with this so we can discuss it at dinnertime each night. Even if the kids don't do something every day, they'll hear about what dh and I have done and hopefully be influenced that way.
Join In!
I'm hoping lots of you will join in! The more of us participating, the more seeds of happiness will be spread! Plus, I think we will all draw inspiration from each other by posting what we do and what the reactions were.
Getting Started
Yesterday, I tried to sit down and write down some of the specific RAKs I was thinking about doing (bringing a neighbor some cookies, calling my out-of-town friend, etc). That way, if there was a day I was wondering what to do I'd have my list ready to go. I got stuck around 14 or 15. It's harder than you think! I challenge you to make a list of 20-30 things you would like to do out of the blue so that you'll be prepared for this challenge.
Here are some great RAK ideas to help inspire you. We've also started a thread for RAK ideas for school-age kids. Please add more!
Let me know if you're in by replying in this thread. PIN us on Pinterest so that we can spread the word about this challenge and get other friends to join us!
