So update:
The problem we were having with the Vyvance was I couldn't get him to take the pill. After I started getting him to take it, things have completely turned around for him in school. He is doing WONDERFUL. I'm very happy with how its working out for him right now.
He had an appt today, and I complained to the dr again about the price of this medication. It gets to the point where you have to choose, feeding my other 2 kids, OR keeping this one calm so he can focus in school. I told her how frustrated I was. Turns out, she was able to give me a prresciption card FROM Vyvance, that will get me the next 6 prescriptions for no more than $30. That is HUGE, since the last time I paid for it with my copay, it was $158. I can't afford that once a month. I can afford $30! LOL
I love the difference in my child. He comes home from school, does his homework without argument, then spends the rest of the afternoon playing catch in the backyard with his sister, or he does independent things like drawing and coloring (he is becoming an amazing artist at 8 years old! I have to scan in a picture he drew, its incredible) OR he will sit for hours and build and rebuild lego projects. Not to mention the rave reviews I'm getting from his teacher, as well as the improvement in his grades. This is what I always wanted for him. He would never sit to read, NOW he will sit and read for at least the required 15 minutes of homework he has. AND he can tell me what he read, he isn't rushing through it. The difference in him is amazing.
