Each week our Harris Teeter offers a different "Meal Deal" For example this week (through May 15) you can buy

250

one (1) 7-9 oz. Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Sliced Lunchmeat;
one (1) 12-13 oz. Arnold Sandwich Thins;
one (1) 12 oz. Kraft Cheese Singles; and
one (1) 5.5-10 oz. Nabisco Wheat Thins or Triscuits

all for $6.99

Does your store do anything like this? And does it save you money?

Our Meijer does this too.  They will also have extra coupons and recipes on their website that go with the meals for the week.

Ours does, but I think it's a sales ploy. Generally, it's not much (if any) cheaper than any other meal you can think of planning. They aren't going to advertise something they're not making money off of.

Like when sales are 5/$10....people will buy 5. Grocery stores are pretty smart with their advertising.

Same here - 5 packages of meat for $10. You have to be savvy and pick carefully.

One of our local grocery stores is starting to do this. Last week we had Stoffer's family size lasagna, A pack of dole salad, store brand garlic bread, and  Nestle cookie dough for ten dollars. I really hope they keep doing it! :) At Walmart, the price of the family size lasagna we got was 7.00, and even more expensive at the grocery store the meal deal was at.

Our grocery store does that from time to time.  Usually what they do is have a group of items that go together, and one of the items is free if you buy the others, which are also on sale.  They are usually pretty good deals.  Last week there was a sale for salad kits.  You bought any two kits and got cherry tomatoes for free.  They also had savings on cucumbers for the salad, croutons and salad dressings.  I have also seen deals for Smore's.  Buy the Hershey's bars, graham crackers and get marshmallows free.

I've meal deals in the ad.  I know my MIL has fallen for it.  It's things like frozen entrees that aren't a good deal and aren't good for you, so I don't get them, of course.

Yes we have them here and I've never gotten them.  I don't think they are a great deal at all, I haven't priced them item by item but I know I can make it cheaper with my Great Value food!
