Vacation Memories

With summer coming up I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas for saving vacation mementos and memories.

While I like traditional hands on scrapbooking, I do make photo books of each of our vacations just because there are so many pictures.

What about souvenirs?

I saw the idea of making memory jars.  Using a mason jar, put in mementos of your trip for example if you went to the beach, add sand, shells, a sand dollar, etc.

You can add tickets for places you went, etc. etc.  Whatever little goodies you pick up.

I also read somewhere about picking up postcards where you go and having your child write on the back about the trip and their favorite memories.  Then keep them all together to look back on later.

What are some of your things you collect or do special with your vacation memorabilia?

I am a multimedia scrapper so I put all the momentos in a book. Postcards, plane tickets, pictures, amusement pictures, wrist bands, buttons, room key etc. I just did my DDs vacation to Disney from last year. I didn't get to go so I really enjoyed scrapping her stuff.

Check out my Frugal Traveler Pinboard.  I've pinned some ideas there.

We collect inexpensive magnets from the places we go.  This is the door that leads to our garage.  It's almost covered!
