Does anyone use it?  Know of a safe brand?  We are outside A LOT right now, and Cayden is currently sporting two nice mosquito bites.  :(

It's a little pricey but doesn't have any deet in it. California Babies (can be found at Target in the baby aisle).  I still use it on my kids and I.

what about the Avon skin so soft? I will probably need to find some this summer for a NB since we are out a lot

I've been thinking of using those bug bands and try and put it on DD's ankle.......but I'm not even sure she is supposed to use those.  Does anyone know about these and the ages for them?

Many people around here try the Avon Skin So Soft. It works for most and then when the baby's turn 6 months they often use the SSS Bug Guard. The California Babies is also good but not sure if it is recommended for babies under 6 months.

The two active ingredients in Avon Skin So Soft are oxybenzone and octinoxate, there is now way I would put that on my baby let alone my self.

Any product is going to say check with doctor first if under 6 months old.

I went and read labels today...and the bands look to be the best alternative.  I bought one, and we are going to try it.  :)

The Bug Spray does contain those active ingredients as does many bug sprays. However, the Skin So Soft bath and body oil that I was originally talking about does not contain those ingredients.

I have never heard or seen the bands but very interested in them. Where can you find them? We don't have many shopping options in our area of Alaska

We have those bands in the garden section of our local Walmart.  They are just a springy-coil like band that you can put on your wrist that is supposed to keep the bugs away.  Hope you can find them!

Where do you live in Alaska?  We have some friends that live in North Pole.
