THIS is a Sale????

Ugh!

We all know about Kohl's and thier world famous 'sales'.  You know they over inflate thier prices on everything in the store then make it all down at 40-60% off and call it a 'sale'.

The other day I needed a decent pair of pants for ds, he was having his 2nd grade concert  and pretty much only wears jeans daily.  I needed a decent paif or Khaki pants so he would look a little dressier for his show.  I walk into Kohl's fully expecting to find a rack of pants marked down 'on sale', but all I found were 'Buy one pair at full price, get the second half off' sales. On ALL thier pants.  And 1 pair of pants was $28! Those were the cheapest ones I found.  I was shocked! Since when does Kohl's run these sales??  I know I don't shop often, pretty much only when we need something, I was just so disgusted I walked out and went next door to Walmart where I got a pair of khaki pants for $9.  They weren't exactly what I was looking for, but  they served the purpose.

I was willing to pay around $15-$20 for a pair of pants, but certainly NOT $28.  And I only needed the one pair of pants, I wasn't buying one at full price just to get the second at half price.  That would run over $40, for 2 pairs of boys pants.  I go to TCP and get him pants, esp when they run thier 2/$28 sales.  I have had good luck with them and thats what he wears pretty exclusively.  I have to tell myself that next time I shop, I need to buy some 'dressier' jeans/khakis, to keep on hand for just such a situation.

I think it is a pretty common sale when they're not running the 15,20 or 30%...I have only shopped there once or twice when they're not running that one I noticed...and it is NOT a deal frown.gif I agree.

Kohls used to be my go to place when I absolutely needed something like that.  But recently we've been hitting JC Penneys.  With their new lower prices, we have been able to find some nice things at decent prices.  Like I needed some new gym shorts for my girls to finish out the school year.  They had to be red because they are required to wear red shorts for gym class.  I went to Penneys and found exactly what I needed for $7 per pair.  I sent my friend back the next day and they were out of the size she needed but they ordered them to be delivered to the store for no extra charge.  Then she was able to pick them up 2 days later.

I will never buy something when it is buy one get one 50% off unless I need two things and it is a good deal that way.  With Kohls, I will usually wait a week (but it doesn't seem like you had that luxury of time) when they will put it on sale for a better deal.

In my early 20's I worked 3rd shift at kohls taking stuff off the trucks it comes off their on sale. so no nothing at kohls is really on sale unless you get it on the 80 to 90% off.

Don't all stores have there ploys to get you in. I like shopping the clearance racks but only the clearance racks. I have got some pretty amazing deals .

It is like anything you set your own price and go with that. Like I am not willing to spend over $20 for a pair of jeans (for me or my hubby).

They have better prices then some places I was looking at kids pools at Khols I figured I would just pick it up for Less so I went next door to Walmart and found the same school for $10 more. It just never hurts to shop around. But know that the original prices are over inflated figures.

I have NEVER paid full price for anything at Kohl's!!  Everytime I go in there everything is marked way down.  I do always shop the clearance racks, but will shop the racks if I have to and I never ever see anything full price.  They over inflate thier prices and mark it all down to make you THINK you are getting a deal.   I have never seen a BOGO sale at Kohl's, and that price was not anything I was willing to pay thats for sure.

I used to work at Kohl's, we never adjusted the price up and then took a sale off that, the sale price was always a straight percentage off the original tag.

When marking things down though we did all take everything we liked and hoard it behind customer service to buy when we were done our shift. "This style shirt is being marked to $4, who wants to look through before I put them back on the rack?" Standard practice lol

I love Khols, and I really like their return policy. No hassles!

But I have to admitt, I get so many discount coupons and bonus bucks that I have never ever paid full price for anything.

All I know is everytime I go into Kohl's  everything in the store is marked down 40/50/60% off retail.  And thier retail prices are insane, no one will pay them.

I have a friend who looked at toy for her son for Christmas was marked at 50% off of $88.  She did some checking around and the 50% off price was retail price for that item at EVERY OTHER STORE.  Its a pretty well known fact that Kohl's marks up stuff to offer discounts.
