Thinking if my kids are feeling well enough we need to find something to do. Any frugal fun holiday weekend suggestions???

Picnic in the park...  Making S'Mores in the backyard...  Get the hose and buckets out and have a water fight.

Our local paper lists free events for the weekend on Friday, so I always check that out to see if there is something I might want to do.

Invite ourselves to my dads for a cookout! LOL He can buy the food and I can cook it! Actually, DD11 is leaving after school Fri for a weekend camping (her first experience!) with her friend. DH works all weekend. Me and the little kids will probably just hang out at home since we are no longer welcome at the big familly picnic at DHs Aunts house.

We go camping. Not exactly the most frugal thing but this is our third year and it means doing something as a family with family my In-laws all go too.

We tent it and slowly have been getting more gear. I guess tenting is frugal you don't have the fees, storage, cost and fees of a RV. Also try to keep it to a single tank of gas trip.  This year its the beach. I am sure we will have all types of adventures.

I am taking my kid's to IHOP for their free birthday pancakes. We are going to be having a bbq later on Sunday
