I don't think he should have gotten those tickets.  He reacted to an emergency while only thinking of the safety of his son.  The cop was a bit of a jerk...

wow, he was a jerk! I'd rather pay $100 in tickets than go to jail for child endangerment though, and he certainly made the right decision.

I agree he made the right choice! my child is more imp to me than a car.

Wow, those tickets were ridiculous.  First of all the ticket for not being able to produce insurance when it was waterlogged in the Jeep was really stupid, and second, for not applying the emergency brake when he had to think quick to save his son is even stupider (hmm I didn't think stupider was a word, but it wasn't highlighted in red, so maybe it is.)

The insurance ticket I am sure he can get out of, I had ticket like that once when I couldn't find my proof of insurance and just had to show I had insurance at the time I was given the ticket, but not sure the rules where he lives.

And I agree with him, the cost of the tickets is worth saving his sons life, but still the principle of them would make me fight them too.

In-farking-credible.

Wow, all they have to do is call the insurance company to prove insurance!!  For the love of God... are the police depts that broke they have to issue bogus tickets???

I daresay that if the cop's kid was about to walk off a cliff, he wouldn't take the time to set the e-brake and grab his insurance card out of the glove box either.

I asked dh what he thought that and he said those tickets were beyond ridiculous.
