Is there something you wish you could "pull off" fashion wise?

There was a mom at pick up today, now she is a heavy woman, not just overweight but large.  She had on this black tank top like thing, but with no sleeves, and some funky capri jeans.

She looked really good!

But I would never ever pull that off.

I wish I could feel confident wearing tank top shirts (my arms aren't the best!)  and maxi dresses (way too short)  or even a summer dress (but they all seem to be sleeveless!)

How do you boost your confidence to wearing things out of your comfort zone?

If I try something outside my comfort zone I pair it with items that make me feel really good. Whether it's a pair of kick ass shoes, a va-va-voom bra, or some awesome jeans. You don't want to be head to toe new unless you're the adventerous sort. If you're going with a new style dress, do it in a color you love. If you are trying a new color, do it in a cut you love. Nothing wrong with mixing things in in small doses.

You got to just rock it. It's like trying anything new, you've got to go all in. If you act uncomfortable, people are going to assume your uncomfortable. If you act like you love it (even if you're undecided) then people are going to respond better to it.

I really like maxi dresses but am neither tall nor thin enough to pull them off.

I have to feel comfortable and confident in order to wear something--so if it is out of my comfort zone, I just won't go there.

I think if I had a better sense of style I would be able to pull off some styles I haven't tried.  Skinny jeans are one that I'd love to try--but I just don't know if I could.

I second the maxi dress....I love the way they look ....just not on me.

There are so many cute fashions that I see that I wish I could wear, but a lot of things don't look good on me.  I have a big belly that always looks pregnant, and a big butt.

Heels. I have weak ankles from spraining them. If I tried to walk in heels I would look like a drunken sailor and fall on my face after 2 feet.

Being petite, maxi dresses are not my thing either.  I sure wish I had the body to pull off a string bikini!  ROTF.gif
