Photographing Babies: Ideas for Posing a 9-Month Old Baby Girl?

I have a friend with a baby girl, and she wants me to take her 9-month photos.  I am planning on taking her to the park to get some shots of her sitting by these gorgeous flower beds they have there.  I was wondering if you have any suggestions for me for poses and props.  If you have professional photos of your babies at this age (not in a studio setting) that you love, can you post them for me for inspiration?

I had DD barefoot at this age for spring shots. She couldn't stand and her shoes looked really odd. I finally just scrapped them and now I love looking at her chubby little legs.

I have seen photos where they prop a large frame and have the mother hold the infant behind the frame, thought that was really cute.

I love that!

-In a wagon near the flowers

And if it rains and you need to move inside:

-With blocks spelling babies name (I love those pics!)

Be armed with the knowledge of what gets this kid to crack up. Some babies you pick up that camera and they become instant sour pusses haha

I second the wagon idea. If she's not feeling particularly "posey" she can still pull herself up on the wagon, play with it, etc so you'll be able to keep her contained in one area of her own accord and not have to get pictures on the move. If she's not feeling sitting amongst the flowers then every shot is going to be of her heading to where she wants to be. Large props that have some measure of interest to her and can't be thrown or dragged off by a grumpy baby will help out.

Hopefully she's happy as a clam and hams it up for you!
