How often do you get mommy Free Time? How do you get it? Naptime? Earlier wake up? Earlier bedtime for kids? Babysitter? Spouse? What do you spend it on?

TV!  My kids don't nap.  They will play quietly together, but if they aren't and I *need* to get something done, I put on a show for them.  We don't watch TV, just DVDs, so I can limit it easily by putting in a 1/2 hour, or 1 hour show.  That keeps me on track to get whatever done before it's time to play with them again.

My 2.5 year old dd will still nap most days, she ideally needs at least and hour and a half, but some days it is less or not at all because she fights it and we have to get ds from school.

On days she takes a good nap, I eat, clean up the kitchen, ride my exercise bike (I play around online when I'm one the bike) and get dinner started. On days where she is fighting nap, I just get to eat and get a few things done. She is still in her room the whole time, but I can't go into workout mode since I need to be aware of what she is doing and encourage her to stay in quiet time.

Next year, ds's school schedule changes from 10-2:20 to 8:20-1:20, so nap will be greatly affected and even on days I can get her to take a nap, it won't really be enough time to workout on top of everything else. I'm going to have to start going to the gym at 6 am.

Mine was either during nap time (but, frankly, I was taking naps along with them back then) or like Swishina, I would let them watch some TV.

If Dh were home, he would usually take over the kids and I would get time for me then (if I wasn't using it to cook or clean).

My me time is usually during their nap, but like Diane said sometimes I end up having to take a nap too.  One night a week or less sometimes I will take a bath while DH watches the kids, but usually I wait to do that until they are in bed because they will just try to come into the bathroom and bug my anyway.  Once in a while I get together with a friend and go out while DH is home with the kids.

I live and die by bedtime. Little kids usually go to bed at 7, DD11 has to be in her room at 7 with lights out at 8. I usually unwind with the computer or in bed watching tv. From time to time DH will take them somewhere so I can scrapbook, which I never get enough time for. (I am still scrapping 2010!) I used to scrap at naptime but that is a thing of the past.

When my kids were little, it was before they got up, nap time, TV, and I brought them to the babysitting room at the YMCA when I worked out.  Plus, I swapped babysitting with my friends pretty frequently so they got playtime and we moms got to switch off getting some free time to run errands.
