If you use coupons....

Are you still using them as much as you were??

I have totally fallen off the wagon.  I always said I could never understand why people didn't use coupons because I saved a TON of money, and my grocery shopping trips were always sucessful.   Now I realize.  I never put as much time into it as the folks on TV, LOL but it is very time consuming.  When I started coaching cheerleading on a regular basis, and working a few days a week, I found that even the little time I spent on clipping and deal searching, just wasn't there anymore.    I started shopping at ALDI and Walmart more and more and eventually my coupon binder started gathering dust.

I'm starting to get back into it though, I need to create a nice stock pile since we don't know how much longer DH will have his job.  But its been at least 9 months since I actively clipped, and used coupons.

Not as much as I should. I went into Shaws the other day and saw that they have a coupon swap bin. I was so excited. You can bring in coupons that you don't use and swap them for ones you will. I have a stack to bring in for tomorrow so I'm hoping I can find coupons for most of the things on my shopping list.

Coupons for me are very hit and miss. I tried it once but found out that even with the coupon the name brand was still more than my store brand or usual brand. Mostly I use them for cereal.

I am still using them just as much as I always have, but I still compare prices and make sure the item is something I'm going to buy anyway.  I throw a lot away at the end of the month.

I have totally fallen off the wagon too. I do the loading coupons to my card, and I use the free coupons I get, but other than that I don't clip them much at all. I used to be a HUGE coupon girl even buying coupons for items I knew would be free after coupon during my crazed CVS days.

Reminds me....I have a bunch of free coupons I need to use by the end of the month. Need to gather those up!!

I have a pretty good stockpile of most things, so I'm content to just check what the loss leaders are each week or what I can get for free that week and leave it at that.

I haven't been all out with my coupons for 4 or 5 months. I just don't need anything. It has worked against me though, my binder is so out of date it isn't funny. I'm pretty sure I still have 12/31/2011 coupons in it....

It is pretty bad though, Hubby asked me the other day why I'm not doing my couponing thing anymore. I guess if he notices I really have seriously dropped off lol

My local grocery store has a special going on that they will double coupons up to 0.99 value on Thursdays. I have been so busy lately and not having as much time as I usually do to devote to couponing. I did get Hellman's Mayo ( the best imo) and Heinz Ketchup today for 0.48 each. Pretty excited :)! Also, anyone notice the coupons in general haven't been very good in the last year or so? I miss the days of $3/1 Snuggle and Gain.

Ours doesn't double that high anymore. For $1.98 off an item, it would be worth it to get back into the habit.....or at least every once in a while. I miss those double up to a dollar days.

The shoprite I shop at does that still all the time.  However, try finding a coupon for more than .75.  I can never find anything higher than that, so the most I get doubled is 1.50 off an item.

I am totally off the band wagon too.  I was doing really good back in September when I first started, I just haven't taken the time to do it lately.  I think I got discouraged too that the coupons really were not all that great.  I have a feeling we can thank the Extreme Coupooning shows for that change.
