Here's a fun, new twist on roasted marshmallows. My husband mentioned these to me when we were first married, but this past weekend was the first time we ever actually tried making roasted Starburst.
First, unwrap the Starbursts and put them on your roasting stick. They'll be a little hard to push on, but will go through quickly toward the end, so don't poke yourself.
Hold the Starbursts over the coals, just like roasting marshmallows.
When the Starbursts are melty and a little bubbly on top, remove them from the coals. Let them cool slightly, then carefully remove them from the roasting stick. Don't burn yourself! Be especially careful when giving roasted Starburst to children, because they will still be hot.
Delicious! They're a little crunchy, but soft on the inside. A lot like a roasted marshmallow...
Roasting Starbursts intensifies the flavors, so if there's a flavor of Starburst you don't care for, you probably won't like it roasted. We both thought the lemon tasted like Pine Sol. Next time, we're going to try the tropical-flavored Starbursts!
