June Walking Challenge

Who's in?   I am going to up mine to 70 miles.  Not sure if I will get it in, but it will give me a bit of motivation to do a few extra walks.

I will only get half the month in so I am going to say 30.

I have no idea how much we walk, but dh and I go for a long walk almost every evening (except for late soccer night) in the summer.

Aiming for fifty to sixty this month. Hiking will start ... if it ever stops raining.

I'm in. I think I will say 55 miles for me for now. I am hoping it will be more but will be losing 7-10days this month for vacation. While on vacation there will be lots of hikes so I will have to try to track how fr those are.

I am going to try again this month, didn't do any extra walking last month.  I am saying 25 miles considering I didn't do any last month.

I am focusing more on minutes because of my bike riding, but I'll keep track of my walking miles too. My goal is 50 miles.

Week one is over; how are you doing?  So far I have done 14 miles.

I was only able to get 5 miles in this week.

I only walked 4.5 miles this week (lots of bike riding instead). I'm planning on getting another walk in on Sunday.

 

My walking shoes had seen better days, so I bought new shoes and was cheap about it. I ended up with blisters on the middle of the bottom of each foot earlier this week, and then when I went out for a walk yesterday felt them building up again and only made it 30 min. Plus, I got shin splints, ouch. The shoes are okay for running errands, etc, but not for long walks. I ordered a new pair of Nike walkers from Zappos yesterday, the same exact shoe I have worn for the last couple years so I'm hopeful the blister issue will be resolved. Lesson learned.
