The ABCs of Saving Money on Groceries WITHOUT Clipping Coupons

 

Can we get through the entire alphabet with tips on how to save money on groceries WITHOUT clipping coupons?  This could be tough, but I think we can do it.  I'll start off...

 

A - Avocado.  Did you know that you can buy avocados on sale and freeze them?  How to freeze avocados

bulk= sometimes buying in bulk (like meat) is cheaper. Just separate it yourself and freeze.

Do-it-Yourself when it comes to cut up vegetables and fruits.  Don't spend extra money on trays or bags that are precut.

Eggs: don't throw them away just because the date on the package has past. Do the float test. Fill a bowl full of water. Add the eggs. If they float then throw them away.

Ice Cream: I buy the 4 qt containers at HyVee when they go on sale. I usually buy two and put one in the freezer downstairs.  I use chocolate syrup from Aldi's.
