I have seen things like this many times. People getting food stamps and welfare and then going out to eat at most meals. Always having Starbucks and having Disneyland passes and going at least once per month - heck gas alone is at least $40 not to mention the character meals they did. I don't get it. I have no idea if they have CC debt or not. I have known several people though getting help that seemed to always have money to go places. It is frustrating when you are paying your way and can't afford to do this stuff. Oh I forgot they both had expensive cell phones and plans while I have the more basic plan and cheap phone.
I know though that I have money in savings and am paying my way. I don't think we can get state health insurance around here that covers everything. I know when DH was unemployed we had Cobra insurance and it was very $$ but were afraid to not have it.
If they have new cars I would assume that they owe on them in addition to the CC debt. I know I wouldn't want to live that way. We would love new cars but the idea of a payment every month is not something I would want. We are setting aside money for new cars so that when the time comes we either pay cash or mostly cash for them. Eventually they will have to pay things back unless they are spending as much as possible and plan to then claim bankruptcy I have seen that happen to.
