How did you save money this week?

What did you do this week that saved money?

 

 

Today I dried 3 loads of laundry out on the line. 

 

I saved $46.47 on tickets to 6 Flags in St. Louis by buying them through our recreation department. 

 

We didn't spend any money on entertainment this week. 

 

At Target I had them do a price adjustment at customer service when their shelf price and the price that range up were different.

I dried DD2 comforter, sheets and blankie on the line outside. Of course my savings was blown when DD11 left her laundry in the washer for 2 days so it had to be rewashed, with vinegar, because it stunk.

 

I got paid yesterday cash for babysitting and all of that money got put away in my rainy day/emergency stash.

 

Used kiddie pool water to water my hostas.

 

Asked for and got a discount on a bag of dirt that had a rip in it.

 

Went to the splashpad yesterday instead of filling the kiddie pool at home.

 

We also spent zero on entertainment.

I shopped at ALDI and planned meals according to what was on sale there

Planned play dates at our house for free entertainment for the kids

Last night I had a friend over for a beer instead of going out

Transplanted some flowers/plants from the ravine instead of buying new ones

I price matched at Wal-Mart and saved almost $10 doing that.....and my bill was only $35 or so!

We ate almost every meal at home this week - even though we were busy!

I got a $9.50 pack of diapers for $2.64 after it was clearanced and I used mfr coupon + target coupon.

 

I rode with a friend to run errands while DH watched the kids (saved gas)

 

I used a coupon for a free kid's meal, let the boys split it for a light lunch and then they played in the play area for 1.5 hours!

hubby picked up dinner at the grocery store twice, rather than eating out.

 

line dried clothes, but only because we STILL don't have a dryer.

 

packed lunch to Disneyland.

 

walked to the park instead of driving.

 

got insurance quotes from 3 companies (this saved me at least $600).

stayed out of stores on my lunch break so i wouldn't be tempted to spend anything needlessly.

Went swimming in our pool instead of driving to the beach.

 

Met some friends at the park for the kiddos to play.

 

Going to a Estuary with friends and the kiddos today and that is free.

The main thing was staying home. 

 

We did go out to eat last weekend, but used a coupon.

 

Got DVDs from the library.

 

Make lots of food from scratch.
