Do you freeze bread? - Page 3

Yes. It saves us money. I dont have to run into the shop every day and buy bread and extras that we dont need. - so I save on gas as well. I buy enough for two weeks at a time. I get home and freeze it . The next morning I take out the frozen bread - and its defrosted when I want to use it that night.

Im on a gluten free diet - so my bread - i normally just take from frozen and toast in the mornings. First to defrost, second to toast.

Definitely.  The Schwebels whole wheat-like buns here are close to $4 a package!!!  That's when I saw the whole wheat ones for $1.18 I stocked up.  I could buy the white ones but we don't like the taste and the nutrition is not there.

I only buy a loaf or two at a time and I freeze them. When I know I will use them the next day, I take them out. Then I re-freeze what we don't use if we're not going to be eating bread for a couple days. I freeze buns after we use what we need, also. At the daycare I work we always keep the bread and buns frozen until we need them. I've never noticed that they taste or feel differently.

We only buy heavy whole wheat bread. I buy it when they have it B1G1F, but I don't buy extra to freeze. I just buy what we need that week. Next week someone else will have it on sale. SO I usually get two loaves for around $3 or a bit more.

I buy the fancy breads on the day-old rack and get $4 loaves for 99 cents. I freeze them.

Same here.  I think that some brands of bread freeze okay and some don't.  I used to buy the store brand soft wheat bread at Jewel and that stuff didn't freeze very well.  I don't freeze buns though.  We only buy them when we need them and any leftovers get used up for sandwhiches.

I will buy a few loaves and freeze them if they're on sale for a great price. We normally keep our bread in the fridge to keep it fresh longer.

We freeze bread too. Mainly because we don't go through it very fast, so we can't eat a whole loaf without it getting moldy or stale. I don't notice a big difference in taste after it's been frozen. I think it freezes pretty well.
