MommySaver Decorating advice

I am repainting my living room today. I am taking my dark walls, which I use to love, and am turning them "Toasted Oatmeal", aka off white. All of the trim in my living room is a natural wood color with the exception of the trim around the front window, it was painted white, which I really liked the contrast with my old dark walls.

I plan on, hopefully, replacing this window before winter starts, but until then everything is to remain the same, minus the color of the trim. My question, should I paint the trim around this window in a brown color that will match the wood trim of the rest of the house, or should I just paint it "toasted oatmeal" that would match the walls around it?

Can you post some pictures?  In general, I'm not a fan of painted wood unless it's white, but every situation is different.

I would paint it dark to match the rest of the trim in your house.

In our house in Idaho, all the windows and doors had dark stained wood trim ... all except one window which they didn't trim out (I have no idea why). It always bugged me that the area around that one window was wall-colored.

I would leave it white or the toasted oatmeal. Our walls are an off white color and our trim is white. I do LOVE natural woodwork that is wood colored. My house I owned before DH had all natural wood trim...including the windows and crown molding, and I loved, loved, loved it . But I am NOT a fan of painted dark woodwork.

I would paint it to match it to the rest of the house or white, but would not paint it toasted oatmeal.

I love love love the natural wood trim which our previous house had.  Now, every thing is white here.  I would love to paint it darker brown, but it's a lot of work and money.

I would paint it to match the trim.  We don't have natural wood trim, but we recently painted our family room and made the trim darker than the walls.  I love the look.

I would paint it white.

We painted our paneling this weekend. The walls are a light tan and the trim is a darker tan.
