When I said you're made drowsy rather than fully knocked out I meant that you'll THINK you're knocked out as you can't remember anything. You'll have no recollection of the procedure at all. But usually most doctors don't put you fully out like they do with a surgery where they're cutting into you, etc. They put you under enough with just an IV anesthetic that you feel less pain and as I said before, they give you amnesic drugs so when you wake up you feel like you've been knocked out because you don't remember. Most GI docs though don't want you totally out as they sometimes will gently rouse you a bit to roll over etc. although you won't remember that either.
