Shaving *GASP*

Admit it.  We all hate having to shave our legs, under-arms, bikini areas, and everywhere else.  If you have hard water, and are living without a water softener, you probably are like me...hate it more.

In the last 18 years that I've been shaving, I've used it all:  Soap, shave gel, razors with soap built in, conditioner, moisturizing scrubs, lotions with 9,000 moisturizers in them, hair removal creams that chemically remove a layer of skin...all of it.  Until the other day when I realized...I've not shaved in a pretty good while (3 weeks.  EEK!).  I decided that I wanted to try something (I was out of my regular shaving goop).  So, I exfoliated with my scrubber/loofa, lathered it up, spread it on, and shaved away.  After my bath, I dried off, and put my jammies on.  No lotion, no oil.

I then started to notice that the hairs in the razor were coming off rather easily and the hairs on my legs and bikini areas were coming off without having to go over the area multiple times. (I use Gillette razors that come in a bag.  Nothing special about them.  3 razors and a moisturizing strip.  They are blue.)  Two days later, my legs still feel like I just shaved them.  Smooth, silky skin and not one dry patch or shave bump, even in my sensitive areas. Not to mention it smells amazing! It's every girl's dream!

Are you going insane trying to figure out what I used?  I'll bet you'll never guess.

Baby Shampoo.  Johnson's Baby Shampoo.  That's it.  I'll never shave with anything else.  In fact, I'll never bathe with anything else.  If they came out with a conditioner for adults, I would probably wash my hair with it, too.  Oh, wait...they do have a leave-in conditioner...hmm...

I know the majority of you have a massive supply of baby shampoo in the house somewhere.  It's one of the top gifts at baby showers, and they last forever.

Have you tried it?  Do you love it?  What do you use?

I just use conditioner if I'm shaving in the shower (ie: underarms and quick lower leg shaves) If I have to shave well, like going to the beach or a hot date with hubby, I use skintimate shave gel.

I also only use high quality razors. Those disposables are just plain crap. A sharp blade absolutely makes a difference.

I have dry skin, and shaving can exaserbate the problem despite exfoliating. I use bag balm after shaving on my legs and loooove it. Baby butt smooth.

I don't have any baby shampoo, but I'll have to keep that in mind.

Hmmm..I am SO trying this.  I had to laugh at something the other day....It was about exercise....that they do yoga several times a week....it's called "shaving your legs".  LOL

Cheap conditioner. Have used it for years. I agree that good razors are key.

I agree, I use conditioner. It helps condition the hair and make it easier to shave. I do have a friend that swears by baby oil to shave with though.

I just use my regular body wash.  But I agree, you have to have a nice, sharp razor.
