More glow stick fun for kids

Neighbor girl posted a picture on Facebook. They had piles of glow sticks  from Dollar Tree. The girls had a contest to see who could come up with the best accessories with the glow sticks. They had made necklaces, bracelets, head bands, glasses, and belts just to name a few.

I've seen ideas on Pinterest that we're going to try:

1.  Break open a glow stick and pour the liquid into a jar.  Put the lid on the jar and swirl the liquid around the inside of the jar.

1.  Break open a glow stick and pour the liquid into a jar of water.  Put the lid back on, and swoosh the jar to mix the glow stick liquid with the water.

Both are supposed to make "nightlights" of sorts for outside.  If I remember, I'll post pics.

DD did this at GS camp and she said it didn't work. (Tee hee. I washed out the jar and I'm keeping it, though.) I think you have to break the capsule and make it glow before you pour it into the jar.

I saw this on pinterest...put a glow stick in a balloon, blow up the balloon, tie a not and place it in the pool for a glow lantern...we did this last  night it worked, and pretty, with the balloons floating around the pool.
