If it's been scorching where you live how are you beating the heat with the kids??

Well it's been scorching hot hear so we have been indoors alot the last few days. What are you doing to beat the heat and not go broke???

 

we rented a wii game from redbox it was a huge hit kids loved it.

we watched a movie they wanted to see

we made sure we got outside early in the mornings and late in the evenings when the sun was going down.

We went to the park at 9am.  It was already hot!

 

Tomorrow we're heading to the river.  They can swim at the dock and go fishing.

Stay indoors, lots of movie and t.v. watching...internet reading....swimming every evening after dinner.

A lot of indoor time. We have been having a Little House on the Prairie marathon. We also play board games and read a lot. We go out in the mornings and the girls play while I hang laundry on the line. Then we go out in the evenings and play, water gardens, catch fireflies and bring in the laundry. We do go to the gym a few times per week to swim and play. We also go to the beach a couple times per week. (we live just 3 miles from Lake Michigan).

They days have been really dragging here. I think the heat is taking quite the toll on us. The kids have spent some time in the pool and thy still have soccer games and such. They have been shortening the halfs by ten minutes and have mandatory water breaks half way through the halves.

Well, I don't have "kids" to deal with anymore, but I went to the library on my lunch hour to read in the air conditioning (and to get away from the office).  It beat going to a store and buying something I didn't need.

DD either goes into the basement or to the library four blocks away( they have air and we do not)

 

DS goes into the basement.

 

i have to work and most of the houses do NOT have central air or  air conditioners...so i drink water and try to get the house cleaned as fast as i can to go to the next one.

We have just been staying indoors as much as possible. It is getting old and I can't wait for tomorrow when it will be much cooler!
