I have never seen zucchini this big!

I harvested some zucchini today.  Some of it was smaller but I am always afraid the bugs will get it.  The big momma in the front is 12" by 10.5" in diameter!!

That's how most all of mine were sat year. Not ever eating much zucchini, I thought it was normal.

Wow. That's great.  I probably should have let some of the other ones get bigger.

 

I make zucchini muffins with mine.

I always think the smaller ones taste better than when they get too large.

 That's what I was told as well so we have been clipping them off at a decent size.

 

Skimommy, Can you taste a difference? If not I might just let mine stay on the vine a little longer!

Zucchini's were crazy last year too, I probably froze 3 times more than I ever usually do, off the same number of plants! Which is why I didn't even bother planting any this year. Weird.

I think if you're grating the large ones up for muffins or something, they're fine. But if you're just eating them they get tougher when they get too large.

 Thanks! I wasn't sure! This is my first garden this year and we are pretty much learning as we go.

You're welcome. My parents had really big gardens all the time I was growing up and I've had some in the past but not at our current house. When I buy zucchini in the grocery, I always pick out the smaller ones.
