Laundry Pods and Young Children

Apparently, these look a little too much like candy!  Be sure to keep them out of reach.

Right now we happen to have some of the Finish dishwasher detergent packs and my 2.5 year old is convinced they're candy. I keep the box on top of the fridge, but if I happen to have it down and she sees it, she has a tantrum for candy. It's not the appearance of the detergent itself, it's the wrapper that reminds her of wrapped individual candies, like lollipops.

I had heard about this!  Scary!

I heard about this too.  Honestly thought, I don't get where kids think these are candy.  They look nothing like any candy I have ever seen.  Regardless, when you have toddlers in the home it is common sense to keep items like cleaning supplies and such out of their reach.

Duh, that's my thought, too. It's a cleaning product! No matter what package it is in, it needs to be kept out of the reach of children.

They are coming out with a childproof container but I have to ask myself why should this be necessary? To save their hind ends I suppose but still. use some logic. My detergent is in an upper cabinet that ds couldn't possibly reach.

If your kids are at the stage where they want to shove things in their mouth....keep the containers away from them. Common sense.

I liken it with the frivolous "Oh no! My hot coffee was hot!"
