My "spending money to save money" move will be when we buy a freezer. I could pay for a small freezer with my savings on gasoline alone (fewer trips to the market).
And I want to put the car repair in that category, too. For a few hundred bucks, plus the money from the insurance company, we will - hopefully - be delaying a major car purchase. I'd rather spend $500 now in order to delay spending $20,000.
