Crochet anyone??

Does anyone crochet?  I just started crocheting, well about 8 months ago.  I say I taught myself, but I learned a LOT from watching you tube videos.  So far I have tackled several different projects, can post pics later.  But just wondering if there is anyone out there who hooks :)

I crochet. I taught myself from a book (pre YouTube days) The last thing I made was some of these chocolate chip cookies for my niece's birthday.

I can crochet. My 6th grade teacher taught me. I cannot do patterns though since I don't know what anything is called, I just make up my own as I go. I haven't crocheted in years..

Crocheting is one thing I never learned to do.  I tried, but just never got the hang of it.

Cute Chocolate Chip cookies!  I have a few books/magazines, and found a lot of patterns online, there are a TON of free sites to find things.  There are a few projects I want to tackle, like a cardigan, but there are still a few stitches that frighten me!  A few I have tried and they just didn't turn out right, so I tend to pick "easy" patterns.  The one pattern I am dying to try costs around $5 so I am very hesitant to spend the money not knowing if I can actually crochet all the stitches it requires (since I can't see it until I buy it! LOL)

Here are a few of my favorite projects:

I used to crochet years ago, was really into it.  I just recently started again, there was a sweater I found that was $118, and I thought I could crochet it myself, I tried it, but it wasn't turning out, so I frogged it.  I did crochet a couple of dish clothes though to get back the hang of it.  I would like to get into it more, I have a lot of yarn I saved.

What are those pretty sunflower thingies?

I would email the seller of the pattern and ask for a list of required stitches. I actually think it's odd that isn't shown in the pattern listing!

I heart crocheting!  With four kiddos, it is hard to get it done...one day!rolleyes.gif

My mom taught me when I was little....so naturally I rebelled against her trying to teach me and wanted nothing to do with it lol

I picked it back up a few years ago and retaught myself and have had projects in the work ever since. I keep a bag next to 'my' chair in the living room, so I'll work on something while watching tv. I can't just be idle so this way I have something to do. And the lighting doesn't have to be as bright as if I were binding a quilt or something, so it's easier to do in a dim room.
