Do you have a picture of the finished product? I bet we'd able to deduce what most of the stitches are from a photo.

That's a good idea.  I saw it on Ravelry, so maybe they are listed and I just didn't see it!

ETA:  Here is the link to Ravelry,

I am not sure if you have to sign up to see it....

and then there was another link with details :)

I would email the seller of the pattern and ask for a list of required stitches. I actually think it's odd that isn't shown in the pattern listing!

Meant to quote this in above post....

the sunflower things, are actually dish clothes, I think another pattern I found on Ravelry (Free I am sure), but they can be used for anything, trivet, my daughter plays with them when she has tea parties, etc...

It looks like doubles and singles, and then front post on the sleeve detailing and waist. A front post is still essentially just a double crochet.

I say go for it! It's a cute swing cardigan.

Here are a few of my favorite projects:

Great projects! Are there any websites/magazines/books you recommend. I learned to crochet in Catholic school long ago. I wanted to learn how to knit and checked out a couple of "how to knit" books from the library but I wasn't too successful at it so back to crochet I went. I've done a couple of dishcloths and purses but wanted to do more useful projects like the ones you have above.

The afghan I made I got from a Magazine, the 55 best afghans or something like that, and I double the pattern to make it king size.  The dish clothes (sunflowers) I got from Ravelry, its a knit and crochet forum/database.  I use it mostly for the free patterns, you can search just about anything there and find something for free,  a scarf, mittens, booties, afghans, wrist warmers, dish clothes, etc.... they have a filter for everything, free, hook size, easy or hard, etc..  Also, any of the Yarn companies such as Red Heart, Bernat, Caron, etc... will have free patterns.  I have also crocheted necklaces and bracelets, which are GREAT for kids.  Most place you have to sign up to see the free stuff, but sign up is free and you just get a few extra emails in your inbox :)  Watch for books/magazines to go on sale at Michael's and/or Joanns, because you can't use coupons for those items.  Or at least where I am you can't.

Oh the scarf was a personal pattern that I got from my Aunt, unfortunately she is not sharing outside of family, BUT that is the scarf that inspired me to learn to crochet and therefore probably my favorite, I also made a hat to match :)
