Is this tacky - Page 2

I think the party is fine but gifts that often no way!!

A plant or something like that maybe but def not new things, what do they do with all the old things they have???

yes tacky even more so if they expect gifts!

Definitely tacky!

I would think it is very odd they they "think" they need  a party like that with every house. Strange and a lot wasteful. I would go to the party and bring them a bunch of gifts with things that are reused, re purposed...etc now that would be funny. I would also make up a cute clever card to go with the gift. :)

I might be tempted to give them one more gift ... a book on etiquette.

Love it!

Yes it is tacky!!!  Dh and I have had so many houses together that we no longer have house warmings.  We invite people over but we don't even say it's to see our new house, we just entertain.  After a certain amount, enough is enough!

I can see having a housewarming part for a house you plan to live in for 5-10 years, but having one every year, yes way tacky!

very tacky and very greedy.

we have been here for almost 13 years and we never had one housewarming party!

PLUS, I was always under the assumption that a housewarming party was for NEW homeowners???  Like, a FIRST house type of thing?

If the sisters want to give each other something every time, it's cute. To expect friends and family to buy them umpteen gifts because they just finished building another house is ridiculous, and totally classless.
