I am tired of camping.

when this first came about, I signed us up for camping for three nights and four days. My DH, and I am not using dead right now, extended us to eight nights and nine days. I like camping but I like coming home too.

I am ready to go crazy. I am tired of cooking over a camp fire. I am tired of being all cramped in a tent, there is four of us in our tent, and I am tired of coming home every morning and night to take care of the animals.

Right now, everyone has returned to the site and I am waiting for clothing to dry. I just keep hoping it takes a long time for these clothes.

Just my vent.

While I love to camp, I wouldn't want to be running back and forth every day.

When we go camping that is a time for us to relax and get away from it all. And that includes leaving the house and problems behind for a little while.

Maybe next time you can find someone to feed the animals and pack enough clothes that you don't have to run home and wash clothes.  Of course you will have tons to wash when you get home, but at least you won't be running back and forth.

I can't sleep on the ground, so what I do is stay at home at night (to be with the dog) while hubby and DD camp. I visit them during the day and bring them provisions. Perhaps you should consider a switch on where you sleep at night.

If I had to go home every morning and night, I'd just spend the night. I don't know how far it is for you, but that sounds like a pain in the butt. (Of course I wouldn't go to begin with!!) I'd ask your children if they wanted to spend the night in the tent or at home and let them decide too. You can always visit during the day and your DH can stay with the boys at night if he wants.

No way I'd camp that long.

9 days in a tent..................... No thank you!!!

You have my sympathies!  I gave up sleeping a tent my last Single's group (yes all the women were together) when I was 31 I think.  My back was like a pretzel and that was only two nights.  That next day I decided no tent camping for me any more unless in a cabin, which I don't consider camping anyway.

I have done this as well when ds has scout camp.  After the campfire, I drive home.

I am not a camper either.  If we were close enough to home for me to have to run and do laundry, I would also just spend the night and show up nice and refreshed with said clean clothes the next day.
