Has anyone seen Brave yet?

Yes, we thought it was cute!

Ds and I just saw it, I thought it was pretty intense.  Ds was OK, we watched some clips before the movie at home and he said he wanted to see it.  But in all honesty if I knew it was going to be so Loud and scary, I wouldn't have gone at all!  The PG rating is there for a reason.  One thing I hate about Disney movies is all the tension in them, and that's what I think ds didn't like about it.  There were some funny parts, and *I* personally liked it, but if I had a younger child I would have walked out.  And I would not have taken ds to see it, even though he's 10.5, if I had seen it before hand.

See, I didn't get this at all. We saw Brave and all enjoyed it and my kids are much younger than your ds.  I think new Disney movies are far less intense than the classics, they're super fuzzy compared to what we/I grew up on. Murders and kidnapping were rampant in all of those, and they are still beloved. Different strokes for different folks.

Not yet, but I think the whole (or almost the whole family) family wants to see it.

There are some posts out there that apparently some people are speculating if the main character is a lesbian. What? Because she is a tomboy and doesn't want to be forced into a marriage? Some people will nit pick everything.

An unmarried woman living alone with 7 men? Say it isn't so! How sinful

My friend took her kids (or at least her 5 yo) and she thought it was a little intense, too.

We're waiting for the $1 theater, but we'll take our kids.  They've already seen Merida at Disneyland.  rolleyes.gif I think we're doing things backwards.

All Disney movies have "a bad guy" or something to overcome in them. I think Sleeping Beauty is scarier/more intense than Brave. My 3 year old thought Brave was soo funny. My kids laughed and laughed when the boys became human again and were naked. They thought it was great. It isn't as good as Tangled though. That Princess/Frog one set in New Orleans is much scarier with the Voodoo stuff. We did NOT like that movie at all. I liked the strong female lead and message in Brave.
