We have been eating lots of ice cream! Not good for the waistline, but tasty!

Frugal ways to keep cool? Staying indoors save a lot of money..well except for the AC bill .. lol. Using cold washcloths against your head & neck is also useful. We don't do a lot of major activity outside when temps. are too high .. just relaxing.

This is strange.... all of the posts (well most of them) are from people with one post that joined yesterday.  hum....  and about pools and water.

I have had my heating on here in July!  grr England

In Fl, we kept the fans on, shut the blinds.  I put alum foil over my sun roof window.

Keep the windows closed during the day, open at night, BBQ outside as much as possible, no ovens. Use the little plastic pool and lotts of otter pops.

Hanging out @ the neighborhood pool and playing in the sprinklers !!!

We go to the neighborhood pool and the beach.  I can't skimp on the AC.  I am pretty cold-natured, but I can't stand being hot, which has been pretty difficult with our recent 100+ temps.

The beach, sprinkler, and gym (pool) are most common. Lots of pop-ice. We drink a lot of ice water and stay in the house during the day, playing board games, watching movies, reading aloud. We go outside just before dark to water gardens and burn energy. I live in a trailer with just a window unit AC in the living room. If it is over 95 degrees for several days, then we shut the bedrooms off and have a slumber party in the living room until the heat wave breaks. We have thermal curtains that stay closed at all times when the AC is on. I don't cook at all during a heat wave, or I only cook in the middle of the night. I use the grill outside, usually in the late evening, and make enough for the next day or two.
