Is there hope for "woody" peaches?

We bought peaches at the farmers market and they aren't what I was hoping for at all. I'd like to save them by making cobbler - which hubby would like, too - but I'm afraid some of them are "woody" or fiberous. If I cook them, will they soften? Can these peaches be saved?

Once they are cooked and sugar added they should be fine. You can also cook them down add sugar and make them almost like a syrup.
