Pinterest Failures

Have you tried any "tips" on Pinterest that didn't actually work for you?  Share them here, so we don't have to try them!  Here are just a few of mine.

Baking soda + Peroxide to clean baking sheet. It barely took anything off.

Replanting green onion roots.  Technically this worked. I tried it both in water and in soil.  They did regrow stems but before they were really long enough to use, the ones in water starting stinking (I was changing the water frequently) and the ones in soil shriveled and died.

Citrus Vinegar.  You soak citrus peels in vinegar for a couple weeks, and then when you clean with it, it smells good instead of citrusy. This smelled good at first, but it started smelling rotten after the first couple times I used it.

citrus vinegar

Microwave dried strawberries. Nope.

One-ingredient "ice cream."  You just blend up bananas in the blender. It was ok, but my kids were NOT fooled.

hmm I've planted green onion stems without any problems

Pinterest is too chaotic and unorganized for me, I haven't really figured it out so don't go on it. On the upside it means I don't have any fails haha

The nutella fudge pops with banana were not good.

I know there were more but I don't remember right now.

Made a monkey bar recipe and ended up throwing out most of it.  No one would eat it.

I tried the one to make a heart-shaped hard boiled egg.  It didn't work for me.

The baking soda & peroxide was was a big disappointment for me too. Also one of the chicken, crescent roll ups- I can't remember exactly which one...my family thought they were 'okay'...I thought they were gross! I think it was one with cream cheese...

Most of my recipes have turned out pretty good, though there are some I definitely wouldn't make again. I made a salted caramel ice milk that was SO much work.  We ended up eating the rest of the caramel over ice cream, or with a spoon, because it seemed wasteful to put homemade caramel in a kind of bland ice milk.

So far, nothing I've tried has been a complete failure, including the green onions and the citrus vinegar.  I've made several things after seeing them on Pinterest, but the easiest was using a paste of cream of tartar and water to clean my toaster.  It took all the grime off.  Amazing and so simple and cheap.
