a piece of cake? a piece of pie? had ice cream?
Since I'm gluten-free, desserts tend to be a little more difficult for me, especially if I'm cooking at home and need to make something appetizing for all three of us (hubby and DD aren't gluten-free).
While I prefer to make cookies at home - and will for hubby and DD - when it comes to gluten-free cookies, it is cheaper in the long run to buy a small amount of gluten-free cookies from the store. I was at a store the other day looking over the selection and almost pulled something off the shelf, then I realized how long it has been since I last ate a cookie - easily MONTHS. Why buy cookies if I'm not eating them? Why start getting back in the habit now?
In all honesty, I've made a few gluten-free desserts at home for the whole family. I made lime bars. Those are good (like a key lime pie) and I just made peach cobbler (the woody peaches worked out!) Neither hubby nor DD seem to realize these desserts are gluten-free.
