What do you put in Shepherd's Pie?

I always only use frozen corn, creamed corn, ground beef or turkey, onions, and mashed potato.  If I make it with another veg, I will still call it Shepherd's pie, but will usually note that I have a diffrent veg in it.  Most of the time I only use corn, depends on my mood. LOL

 

I was at work today, and served Shepherd's pie.  I didn't make it, it was made a few days ahead for me, I heated it up today and served it.  One of the residents was SO upset there was 'too much carrot in it' and said she was going to make a written complaint about it.  I was like, 'okayyyyyy'  but honestly for a resident home like that I wouldn't have put anything but corn in it.

 

Do you every use anything other than corn when you make Shepherd's pie?? Do you have a favorite one?

I use green beans, corn, english peas, carrots and a can of cream of potato soup and cream of mushroom soup. I also put cheese on top before I put the potato's on top

ground beef, tomato sauce, onion, green beans.  I haven't made it in ages, so I can't remember if I put corn in it or not.

Ground Beef, Can of chopped tomatoes, Peas, and top it with mash potatos.

Ground meat, beef gravy, corn, carrots, peas and sometimes green beans.

I have never made Shepherd's pie in my life. To be honest I don't like foods that have too many different items mixed in. Just hearing you all describe it makes me icky LOL I'd prefer all the items separate.

I do know some people like that.  I prefer it with just corn actually, all these other ingredients is making me eek.gif

I put in onions, mushrooms, and whatever other vegetables I happen to have on hand. And of course, ground beef and mashed potatoes, and top with cheese. Sometimes I use half beef, half Italian sausage.

I just made it yesterday!  (In fact, I made it the day before and had set the oven to delay bake - but apparently screwed it up!  It was nasty.....I don't even think the dog ate it!) 

 

I did ground beef, mushroom soup, green beans, salt, pepper, garlic powder, potatoes and a little cheese.
