Honestly I've never compared the sugar content of store brand vs name brand cereals. I usually just compare price.

No.

We just buy what we like.

I do... I buy organic milk for my son, and one day I checked out the Organic Store Brand ($1 cheaper) and it had as an ingredient: organic milk powder! what's the point of Organic if they put milk powder, right/

I stuck with my Horizon milk Gallon! :)

The point of the organic milk powder is that it makes a lower fat product creamier, fuller tasting. It could also increase the protein content. Lastly, it could keep the price consistent when demand or product availability is uneven. What did the rest of the nutrition label say?

To answer the question, yes, a lot of the time I do check the nutrition label. I often find the lower cost or generic product will substitute important elements to lower the price. For instance, I find more high fructose corn syrup in the generics. I also have to read labels because I'm checking for wheat / gluten. I also check for sodium and calcium.
