Are you open minded enough for Edibile food wrappers?

I was like gross, but I do buy apples and other vegetables. So really is there any difference?

I don't see any way that you could safely manufacture, transport, stock, and sell it. The costs to reduce contamination, not to mention the costs associated with all new machinery and manufacturing for the packaging, would probably be astronomical. And from an environmental standpoint, how much resources are used to create and run the new machinery for the new green packaging?  It's like the 'green' electric and hybrid cars, it's a scam in both costs and environmental factors.

PLUS the number of people I can't stand even being near in public for fear their dirtyness will affect me now being able to touch even more of my food? No thanks.

Oh! And we can't even have a large soda but we're supposed to eat our way to our pudding? That's just stupid.

I'm no germaphobe, but I don't go licking the containers my milk comes in either. Fruit and vegetables get washed before I eat them. Not scrubbed in bleach or that solution you buy at the store, just tap water. Would the wrappers be washable foodstuffs?

And that is the key point, it would have to be something that could be washed, like and apple. I don't see this becoming a way of life for your traditional grocery store but maybe some of the smaller, more speciality stores?

Something like this might come along in my daughter's lifetime but there are - obviously - lots of hurdles to overcome first. If the product is bio-degradable in my body, how does it not become bio-degradable on the shelf?
